2014 Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato Concept

1965 was the first time Zagato and Lamborghini hooked up, when the Milanese coachbuilder created the Lamborghini 3500 GTZ for Marquis Gerino Gerini. There have been several more collaborations since then: the 3500 GTZ of 1965, through to the Raptor, L147 "Super Diablo" and LM 003 Borneo of the 1990s. The Lamborghini 5-95 is created for collector Albert Spiess and designed to be "a modern collectible" in honor of Zagato's 95th anniversary.

Underneath its Speed Racer curves is a Gallardo LP570-4, its visual mass pushed forward thanks to the striving front fascia and a wind deflector at the bottom of the windshield that lengthens the hood, and a shortened trunk that "reveals the brutality of the mechanical components" in back. Between them are Zagato trademarks like wraparound glass and the double-bubble roof, and the size of the obvious air intakes has been reduced by hiding others in the greenhouse and fixing a center intake above the roof. 1991 Lotus M200 Concept

Lotus Type M100 Elan (1989 - 92) aroused immediate controversy as the first front-wheel drive Lotus. The distinctive body shape proved very effective aerodynamically. The Lotus M200 Speedster was a fully operational concept car that was first presented, as a Speedster version of the Lotus Elan M100, at the Frankfurt Motor Show of 1991. It is powered by the 1,588 cc double overhead camshaft (DOHC) 16-valve engine from the M100 Elan.

Designed by Julian Thompson, the concept car produced a most exciting prospect with a simple airstream deflector instead of true windscreen, individual driver and passenger cockpit openings, a large rear wing and fared-in headlight positions replacing the retractable style of the baseline production model. 

The car was restored and repainted to original order. Now it is completed it as a running car, and the finished machine was UK road registered. It was offered in the Bonhams Auction in 2012. Estimated price: £80,000 - 120,000. (bonhams.com)
