Named in honor of seven Jaguar wins at Le Mans, the F-TYPE Project 7 is a road-legal two-seater inspired by the Jaguar D-Type. Created by the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations team, the F-TYPE Project 7 will be a limited production all-aluminum, fully road-legal two-seater roadster with bespoke aerodynamic aids.
Powered by a 5.0L supercharged V8 engine that produces 575hp, more than any production road car Jaguar has ever made before, and that includes the XJ220 and ultra-rare XJR-15 supercars. This engine is enough to send Project 7 to 60 in 3.8 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 186 mph/ 299 km/h.
The Project 7 will cost $165k in the US (plus the standard $925 delivery charge). That's roughly the price of an F-Type R and a base F-Type V6. The F-TYPE Project 7 will be available in two standard colors – Glacier White and Ultra Blue. British Racing Green, Ultimate Black and Caldera Red will also be available as optional upgrades. Only 250 of this contemporary classic will ever be made worldwide. (autoblog.com & Jaguar Press Release)
