1973 Henri Chapron Citroen DS23 Convertible

Italian sculptor and industrial designer Flaminio Bertoni and the French aeronautical engineer André Lefèbvre styled and engineered the DS. Paul Magès developed the hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension. For the 1968 model year, the DS and ID was again restyled, by Robert Opron, who also styled the 1970 SM and 1974 CX. This version had a more streamlined headlamp design, giving the car a notably shark-like appearance. This design had four headlights under a smooth glass canopy, and the inner set swivelled with the steering wheel. This allowed the driver to see "around" turns, especially valuable on twisting roads driven at high speed at night. (wikipedia)

Only 3 Citroen DS23 convertibles were built by the French carrossier Henri Chapron in 1973. The DS 23 with electronic fuel injection was the most powerful production model, producing 141 hp (105 kW). This white model is only one of the three DS23 convertibles built by Chapron that is equipped with fuel injection. Sold for $440,000 in a Bonham auction in 2009.
