Jaguar F Type Convertible (2013-?)

Successor to the iconic E Type and drawn heavily from 2011's C-X16 concept, the new all-aluminum F-Type is a strict two-seat affair. Available in three trims, F-Type, F-Type S and F-Type V8 S, the baby Jag will offer one of three powertrains, a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 with 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 (380 hp / 339 lb-ft.), or a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 (495 hp / 460 lb-ft). Jag promises a 0-60 dash of 4.2 seconds and a limited top speed of 186 mph. The mid-level V6 S does the deed in 4.8 seconds and taps out at 171 mph, while the 'base' F-Type still runs to 60 in 5.1 seconds and hits a 161-mph vMax. (autoblog.com)

Sixty years after Jaguar's legendary test driver Norman Dewis achieved a world record average flying mile speed of 172.4mph in a modified XK 120. Jaguar returned to Jabbeke, Belgium on Saturday 2 March, 2013 for another sprint test - this time with a new Jaguar F-TYPE V8S and 1988 Le Mans 24 hour race-winning driver Andy Wallace. The car hit almost 180 mph and achieved 0-62 mph in an impressive 4.2 seconds.

Update: The 2016 model year brings with it all-wheel drive, which will be standard on 550-horsepower F-Type R models. AWD will be optional on mid-level F-Type S models, which run the 380-hp V6. Six-speed manual transmission will also be available for 2016 on V6 variants with rear-wheel drive. (autoblog.com)
