1963 Lamborghini 350 GTV Concept

The Lamborghini 350 GTV was Lamborghini's first prototype design and forerunner of the later 350 GTLamborghini's first production model. Presented to the public during the 1963 Turin Auto Show, the 350 GTV featured a controversial semi-fastback body designed by Franco Scaglione and built by Carrozzeria Sargiotto in Turin. The interior was leather while the finish was a bright metallic blue color. Giotto Bizzarrini developed a 3.5 litre dry sump racing-specification V12 engine, with an output of 342 bhp. However, the engine was not installed in the car at presentation time because it would not fit. The vertical carburetors were too large and did not fit under the hood. Only recently has the vehicle been restored and the chassis was altered to allow room for the engine. After the debut of the 350 GTV, Ferruccio Lamborghini commissioned Carrozzeria Touring to redesign the car to be more practical and had the engine detuned to 270 bhp for use in the production car. The new body and retuned engine resulted in the first production Lamborghini, the 350 GT.(wikipedia & conceptcarz.com)
