1962 Bertone Ferrari 250 GT SWB

Most Ferraris were designed by Pininfarina, a rival company of Bertone. Nuccio Bertone himself could not drive a Ferrari personal car designed by his rival company. As a result, this one of model was built by Bertone with a chassis (# 3269GT) he paid for himself. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. V12 engine.

Bertone designed two one-ofs for Ferrari in the 60s based on their 250GT SWB chassis. This prototype (chassis #1739GT) is the other one of them.

Update: At the Gooding & Company’s Pebble Beach auction in August 2015, for the first time ever, the car will be available to the public. Sold for $16.5M .(blog.caranddriver.com)
